A new project is in the works with master bassist ROY VOGT. We're planning a new live album this Summer in Nashville... There is always a special element of energy that arises within a live performance as opposed to the studio. The live intuitive improvisational/in the moment interplay between musicians has always been the most appealing and uplifting process throughout my career. Sometimes we find we're at our best in total ease in this free musical setting without allowing ourselves to think way too much during the creative process at hand. Also we will be performing at the Commodore Lounge in Nashville throughout the next few months experimenting with grooves and improvisations alongside some of Nashville's finest players. We are also very blessed to be performing with the legendary LARRY CARLTON for "THE GUITAR SHOW WITH ANDY ELLIS" coming this May! We look forward to seeing you all throughout the year!
New Beginnings, Ascending Aspirations, New Frontiers.... 2013 is my year of focus, commitment and musical refinement with several projects on the horizon! (First) being a new album in the works featuring all original composition's and a bonus tribute track. The album with be very eclectic rooted in progressive blues, rock and funk with jazz inflections throughout. Prevailing throughout the mix will be that earthy organic breathing texture evoking a warm soulful element. (Second) being live performance throughout the year with some great musicians in my corner helping to spread this message of peace with our music. (Third) being the ongoing "WTM BLUES BAND" with Thorpe Mckenzie as our charismatic leader. This band has performed Chattanooga's Riverbend and Nightfall festivals as well as Track 29 and Nashville's Music City Roots with Leon Russell. We are constantly recording and performing for special events. Our vibe is funky blues! This is fun fun stuff!!! (Fourth) being ongoing songwriting collaborations with some great writers, artist Kyle Wyley and Bernie Faulkner of the group Exile etc. (Sixth) being freelance recording and touring. My bag is always packed and ready to go! I look very forward to all future performances for you all!
